Rema has opened up about his rise to fame and stardom on the Midday Show with Toolz and Nadine. According to the Mavin Record artist, his church was the initial platform that nurtured his talent as well as gave him enough room to explore his craft. "I will always appreciate the church because they gave me that platform... and confidence I needed to believe in myself (and) my sound," he said.
He also narrated how he started from the children church all the way to the adult performing and honing his craft although his mother was not in support initially. "When I was in church," he explained. "I was performing (mostly rapping), I told my mum this is what I wanted to do. At first, she was not really feeling it."
He further spoke about creating his own distinct sound and paving a way for the next generation just like they paved way for him.
