Zaha’s Single Goal Grants Ivory Coast A Quarter-Final Ticket


Ivory cost have earned a quarter-final spot thanks to the single goal scored by Zaha. The Crystal Palace forward, who has been linked with a summer move to Arsenal, raced on to Sylvain Gbohouo's deep free-kick and got to the ball before Mali goalkeeper Djigui Diarra.

Mali had far more attempts on goal, some of which were far easier to score than somehow put wide - but nevertheless it is the Elephants who go through.

Mane’s Brace Earn Senegal A Last 16 Spot

Sadio Mane scored twice as Senegal eased to a Group C victory over Kenya and booked their place in the last 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations.


The Liverpool forward had a first-half penalty saved by Kenya keeper Patrick Matasi, before adding to Ismaila Sarr's volley with a placed effort.Mane then converted a second spot-kick after Philemon Otieno was sent off for a dangerous tackle on Sarr late on.


Kenya could still qualify as one of the best four third-placed teams, depending on the results in the final games in Group E and F.


Nigeria Qualify For Round Off Sixteen After 1-0 Victory Over Guinea

The Super Eagles are the first team to qualify for the last sixteen after a 1nil victory over Guinea on Wednesday. Three-time winners Nigeria scored the only goal in the 73rd minute when Moses Simon's right-wing corner was headed in at the near post by Kenneth Omeruo. This places them at the top of the table of group B with six points.


The other two nations in Group B, Madagascar and Burundi, play on Thursday (15:30 BST), before Burundi take on Guinea and Madagascar face Nigeria in the final round of group games on Sunday.
