Stoke have made a £20m bid for West Brom striker Saido Berahino. The Potters have offered a fee of £17m, with £3m in add-ons, for the 22-year-old, who has one year remaining on his contract at The Hawthorns. The fee is close to Baggies chairman Jeremy Peace's valuation, but the deal may be held up until the club find a replacement, with West Ham's Diafra Sakho one of their targets. Crystal Palace and Watford are also interested in signing Berahino.
The forward, who came through the youth system at West Brom, tried to force a move away from the club last the summer after the Baggies rejected two bids from Tottenham. Newcastle went on to have a £21m bid rejected in January, and Berahino threatened to go on strike before apologising for his behaviour. He scored seven goals in 35 appearances for Tony Pulis' side last season.
