The Federal Government has noted with dismay, fraudulent activities perpetuated by on-duty staff at international airports in the country, who extort money out of those who equally wish to evade quarantine requirements.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee Mr. Boss Mustapha who disclosed this during the national briefing of the PSC, noted that the government has taken note of the challenges facing travellers with regards to COVID-19 requirements.
The Executive Director of the National Primary HealthCare Development Agency NPHCDA, Dr. Faisal Shuaib reiterated that unscrupulous elements attempting to fraudulently acquire COVID-19 cards without receiving the vaccine will be prosecuted. Our correspondent Nathan Williams reports that the Head of the Presidential Steering Committee PSC Secretariat, Dr. Mukhtar Muhammad maintained that the Covid-19 curfew is still in place and that some level of enforcement will be administered by a commitee that will be put in place.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the PSC also mentioned that the British High Commissioner to Nigeria has stated that the UK government supports the vaccination programme in the country with vaccines irrespective of where they were manufactured.
