A man of many parts, Tunde Koiki had always been in love with broadcasting right from an early age. Born and raised in Lagos, the Obafemi Awolowo University graduate always knew that his B.Sc in Estate Management was merely a key to open the door of possibilities. "I just couldn't do it anymore," he said. "It was like a fever burning inside me. Broadcasting was my passion right from childhood at St. Saviours Primary School. I always dreamt of being an OAP. So after a few years working post-graduation in the real estate/construction industry, i woke up one morning and decided that i had had enough. Turns out to be the best decision i ever made!"
An intense passion for sports led him to pursue a totally different career as a sports journalist. This has seen him cover many major international and domestic sporting events, allowing him to indulge in another huge passion: travel.
His insightful and often humorous insights into the world of sports saw him feature as a co-anchor/analyst on Channels TV's award-winning SPORTS TONIGHT show for 6 years and become a writer, voice over artiste, presenter and producer with Complete Sports, Nigeria's number one sports paper where he has interviewed over 500 sports personalities from around the world. A major highlight was a nomination in the Radio Presenter of The Year category of the 2014 edition of The Nigeria Media Merit Awards. So it didn't surprise many when he joined The Beat 99.9FM 2016, bringing his unique style and energy to sports broadcasting. "I mean who can turn down Beat FM? Its the number one station in the country. The people are great. Its energetic, edgy, fun and hip. Attributes that describe sports. Attribute that describe me."
You can usually catch Tunde on SportsXtra on Mondays to Fridays at 7am or 8pm bringing you the hottest sports news from Nigeria and the world at large. That's if he's not travelling the world.
