Confusion has continued to reign supreme at the Camp of the Olympic football team even after Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung ‘’had a heart to heart talk with the captain of Team Nigeria John Mikel Obi’’. As at 9 p.m (Nigerian time) Tuesday, the team were still waiting for an official from the Nigeria Olympic Committee to send the money meant for their chartered flight to Manaus, venue of their first match against Japan on Thursday which will be early morning Friday in Nigeria(2 a.m.) A very reliable source said yesterday that coach Samson Siasia was looking worried as the morale of the players was so low. Sighs and hisses were heard as the players discussed their predicament with long faces. The U-23 team were scheduled to travel to Rio last week Friday but it was shifted to Sunday before being moved to Tuesday. The Olympic team is being tipped to win ‘’Gold’’ just as their predecessors did at the Atlanta ’96 Olympics. That dream of winning gold is waning with each passing day.
