fbpx Military Neutralises Scores of Bandits, Impounds 17 Illegal Refining Site | The Beat 99.9 FM

As part of efforts to mitigate the current spate of banditry, kidnapping, cattle rustling and other activities of criminal elements in the country, the Nigerian troops have neutralised scores of bandits across the country as well as impounding 17 illegal oil refining sites.

 

The Coordinator Defense Media Operations, Maj. Gen. John Enenche who made the disclosure today at the defense Headquarters said while repentant bandits embraced peace and surrendered to the troops with their arms and ammunition, over 59 Boko Haram Terrorists captives have been rescued. The DMO Coordinator further disclosed the troops onslaught against illegal oil bunkering in the South-South and piracy on the waterways.

 

While commenting on peace gradually returning to the troubled North Central Zone, he said farmers are gradually returning to their farms as a result of troops’ patrols in the hinterlands to deny armed herdsmen, rustlers and other criminals freedom of action.
