fbpx Instagram Launches Disappearing Video, Changes Direct Messages | The Beat 99.9 FM

Like Facebook, YouTube and Twitter’s live-streaming app Periscope, Instagram has embraced live video broadcasts as they just unveiled a new feature which will enable users broadcast live at any time.

Though similar to the Instagram Stories, the live video is different in the sense that as soon as the user finishes the life broadcast or feed, it disappears unlike the Instagram stories which lasts for 24 hours much like Snapchat stories. In a statement, an Instagram spokesperson said that was "so you can feel comfortable sharing what you want, anytime".

Also introduced by the social media platform is the changes made to its direct messages section, Users will now be able to send disappearing photos and videos privately among friends, as opposed to just text.
